District 22, Brawley Little League Juniors All Star Team uses big sixth inning to beat Spring Valley, 11-1, advancing to Sub-Division





BRAWLEY – A six-run explosion in the sixth inning led the Brawley Little League Junior All Star Team to an 11-1 win in six innings over Spring Valley on Tuesday, earning them their seventh straight win.

The Brawley Little League Junior All Stars scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Jacob Sapp, an RBI single by Sapp, a two-run double by AJ Torrez, an RBI single by Alex Hernandez, and an RBI single by Brandon Gammill.

Sapp racked up two RBIs on two hits for Brawley.

Robert Brodell was a workhorse on the mound while bagging the win for Brawley.  Brodell allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.  “We all used teamwork to win” Brodell said, in a statement after the game.  He is “excited to win” as this is his first time advancing this far.

Brawley never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring three runs on a two-run double by Isaac Rios and an RBI single by Nathan Aguirre.

The Brawley Little League Juniors All Star Team built upon its lead with two runs in the fifth.  Sapp started the inning with a single, plating Ethan Torres.

Their next game will take place on Saturday, July 19th at 6:30pm, hosted by Rancho Penasquitos Little League.
