The Drug Enforcement Administration and it’s partners will hold their 12th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Saturday.
This year there will be 4 collection sites in Imperial County; at Von’s in El Centro and Brawley, U.S. Border Patrol Headquarters on Aten Road in Imperial, and at Food 4 Less in Calexico.
The event will run from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 22, 2016. Only pills and other solids will be accepted. You are asked not to bring liquids, needles, or other sharp objects to the take-back sites.
Last April, during the 11th Take Back Day, about 447 tons of unwanted prescription drugs were collected at over 5,000 sites nationwide.The service is free of charge.
