BRAWLEY – Local band, Day is Last, performed at The Rock Café in Brawley on Friday, May 16 to raise money to allow the individual members to tour with the Celebrant Singers this summer.
The Celebrant Singers is a music and missions ministry composed of singers and musicians that travel around the U.S. and other countries.
For 37 years, their goal has been to reach people and share the good news of God all across the globe by the power of music, which is the same focus Day is Last has had for the valley.
The band, made up of Roman Flores on bass, Gabriel Coca on drums, Lupe Lopez on guitar, and Miriam Cueto on keyboard, are excited to go out into the world and share God with others. While their deadline to raise money is soon approaching, the group has faith that God will provide them with what they need to do His work.
Lopez said, “We think it’s the biggest blessing that four people from such a small place like the Imperial Valley would be able to join such a big and well established group like the Celebrant Singers.”
The Celebrant Singers team journeying to France will be at St. Mary’s Church in El Centro on June 14.
To help the band, donations can be given to any of the band members, or donate online at www.gofundme.com/dayislast.
