BRAWLEY — The D.O.V.E.S. (Donors of Valley Endeavors) rolled out the red carpet for guests as they held their 2016 Monte Carlo event Saturday night at the Stockmen’s Club.
“Tonight’s fundraiser is to make as much money as we possibly can to help the charities of the Imperial Valley that are dedicated to helping women and children,” explained Jody Remington, president of D.O.V.E.S.
This year’s event had a “Stars & Stripes” theme where guests were encouraged to wear red, white, and blue along with their formal attire. The elegant evening featured gourmet buffet dining as well as no-host cocktails and food tables for guests to enjoy.
“This is our 31st event, we’ve been doing this a long time,” commented Remington. “Every year we change the theme, so it’s a lot of fun and our guests love that we do change it. We have a blast doing it and we make money. Every year we’ve gone up a little bit in what we earn. We’ve added new things such as a silent auction a couple years ago. This year we’ve added a raffle, and we’re going to continue to grow and change and care for this community.”
The casino night fundraiser had various fun gaming tables such as Black Jack, Dice, and Texas Hold ’em poker with plenty of prizes. A silent auction table area was set up for guests to bid on a chance to win exclusive and unique prizes such as a personal chef for a night or an acoustic performance from a musician.
“The night has been fabulous,” said Remington. “We’d like to thank people for coming out and we’ve done a lot of good. To date, we’ve given over a million dollars.”[envira-gallery id=”74127″]
