HOLTVILLE – The City of Holtville, in conjunction with the Hildalgo Society, will host the 2014 Holtville Car and Bike Show on Saturday, April 26, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The event, which will be combined with the Farmers Market and Street Fair, will be held in Holt Park.
Holt Park is located at Fifth Street and Pine Avenue in Holtville, California.
The Holtville Car and Bike Show are free and open to the public.
The event will include classics, custom cruisers, lowriders, law enforcement and other types of vehicles.
A $25 entry fee will be required for all participating vehicles and a $10 entry fee for all participating bicycles.
Awards will be given in a number of categories including Popular Choice and Mayors Choice. Car Show Participants may pre-register or register on site beginning at 8 a.m.
The Imperial County Sheriff Department will conduct a Bicycle Charro.
A bicycle charro is an obstacle course to test cyclists agility and handling skills. In addition, ICSO Deputies will conduct free bicycle safety inspections and distribute free bicycle helmets.
The Holtville Fire Department will be providing training in “Hands-Only CPR”. Research has shown the importance of circulating oxygenated blood which remains in the body after a person has stopped breathing
.”Come out to learn these skills, you just might save a life”, noted Chief Alex Silva of the Holtville Fire Department.
Local candidates will participate at the Holtville Car Show. Come out and meet the candidates and elected officials.
There will be a raffle for a large custom mobile BBQ, the proceeds of which will support medical expenses for Caelynn Iten.
Live entertainment is planned starting at 11:00 am.
There will be a free raffle starting at 11:00 am. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets will be $1.
A limited number of sponsorship opportunities are also available. Sponsor Levels include: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
Produce and Natural product vendors include Vince’s Backyard Market fresh produce and honey, Patty’s Roadside Produce will provide produce and chicken kabobs, Quihuis Fresh Produce will have a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, Holtville High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will have fresh produce donated by local farmers, Simple Blessings will have strawberry lemonade and sweet corn, Sandy Loam Farms will have swiss chards, carrots and herbs and fresh cut flowers, Tuttle Bee Company will have honey and natural cosmetics, Green Acres will have a variety of produce, and Marisol Floral will have a plants and flowers.
Delicious Bites vendors will include United Methodist Church’s baked goods and limpia, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will provide pico de gallo and hamburgers, Cookies by Chris will offer fresh home-made cookies, George’s Pizza will have pizza by the slice.
The Originals will sell roasted peanuts, Created Just for you will sell candy applies, Olguins Kitchen will sell fish tacos, Wild West Kettle Corn, El Rey Del Taco will have taco’s de pollo and carne, Hot Rods and Beer will sell pulled pork sandwiches.
Old Town Restaurant’s carne asada tacos and hotdogs, Spear’s Shaved Ice, Chavez Family will sell funnel cake; Lillian Trujillo will sell various snacks.
Brothers Barbecue Grill will sell shishkabobs. The Holtville Community Garden, the Holtville Touchdown Club and the Calexico High School Class of 82 will have water, sodas and other beverages.
Handmade Goods and other Vendors include Sweet Honey cosmetics, the Holtville Library who will sell historic post cards and other Holtville souvenirs, Sylvia Castaneda will have sports blankets, handbags and luggage.
San Sebastian Rustic will sell home decor and items imported from Mexico, Doris Crawford will have unique t-shirts, Cindy Castaneda will have specialty hand-made gifts and home decor, Ramey Bekish will have custom art, Queen Bea will sell silver jewelry and more, Linda Layton’s handmade earrings, Flea Market Chick will have sell antiques, recycled goods, chalkboards and more.
Additional vendors include Light ‘Em Up Spoke Lights who sell unique bicycle spoke lights, Fun Foamis, Mardalay Handbags and Accessories, Storm Skateboards and Carpentry handmade wood crafts and gardening supplies, Desert Deals, Inspire Me, Made with Nauna’s Love, Young Living Essential Oils, Satellite Pro/ Direct TV, and Legal Shield.
Face painting will also be provided for the children.
Vendor opportunities are available. Vendors include: Farm Fresh Produce, Delicious Bites, & Handmade goods. Art, craft and gift vendors are still needed.

Directions: Drivers from outside Holtville should take Hwy 111 to the Evan Hewes Highway. Turn east on the Evan Hewes Highway, which becomes SR 115 upon entry into Holtville. Continue east-bound on SR 115 which becomes Fifth Street. Continue east through Downtown Holtville and past Holt Park. Turn right on Holt Avenue, ample free parking will be available north of Sixth Street in Public Parking Lots.
