EL CENTRO – On Monday, September 7, at around 6:00 a.m., M. Cazares, age 31 of Brawley, was driving a 2011 John Deere Tractor with a rear attached cultivator southbound on Austin Road, south of Keystone Road at a slow rate of speed with his required warning lights activated and his attached slow moving vehicle placard.
Aleman, age 33 of Calexico, was driving a 2007 Jeep Wrangler southbound on Austin, rapidly approaching the rear of the Cazares in the John Deere tractor. Aleman failed to adjust his speed and collided into the rear end of Cazares’s tractor.
Cazarez was ejected as a result of the collision and suffered major injuries. He was transported by a co-worker to Pioneers Memorial Hospital.
Aleman suffered a major injury and was transported by Gold Cross to Pioneers Memorial Hospital.
The collision is still under investigation.
