CHP reported two fatalities over Holiday, decrease in DUI arrests.


CHP new logoEL CENTRO –Imperial Valley CHP Officer German Lazarin released their 2013 Thanksgiving report on traffic violations and fatalities Monday, December 2.

The numbers showed a decrease in minor injury collisions from 2012, from 5 last year to only one minor injury this year.

There was also a decrease in DUI arrests. Six people were arrested this year under the influence of alcohol while 8 were arrested in 2012.

Fatal traffic accidents were up. After zero driving deaths last year, two people suffered mortal injuries over the holiday. The fatalities occurred in the Glamis area.

The CHP reported no major injuries, the same as last year.

Property damage resulting from vehicles went down by one from last year’s total of 9 to this year’s reported property damage of 8.
