CHP releases Labor Day statistics


CHP sobriety checkpointEL CENTRO – The California Highway Patrol reported another year of no fatalities during the three day holiday in the Imperial Valley.

This makes five years in a row of no fatalities reported in the county, but there were four reports of property damage collisions, which corresponds to the same collisions as last year.

CHP Officer Ernesto Ruedas reported that two were injured in collisions, a decrease of one from 2012.

DUI’s were dramatically lower this year, with 4 arrests compared to 8 last year.
