CHP Independence Day’s MEP Final Report


CHP new logoIMPERIAL COUNTY – The California Highway Patrol released Independence Day’s Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) Stats; 16 DUI’s, 5 injury traffic collisions, 6 non-injury traffic collisions and no fatal traffic collisions.

The 2016 Independence Day’s holiday Maximum Enforcement Period, began at 6:00 P.M. on Friday July 1, and continued through 11:59 P.M. on Monday, July 4.

During the Maximum Enforcement Period, all available CHP Officers were on patrol. Their aim was to reduce the number of injuries and traffic violations during the holiday weekend.

During 2015 Independence Day’s holiday Maximum Enforcement Period Stats included; 9 DUI’s, 2 injury traffic collisions, 5 non injury traffic collisions and 2 fatal traffic collisions.
