SALTON CITY — The Salton City Branch of the Imperial County Free Library will be offering different service hours, effective of April 6, 2015. The Branch, located at 1209 Van Buren, in the building with the Salton Community Services District, will now be open to the public:
Tuesdays, from 9 to 5 (closed from noon to 1 for lunch)
Wednesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Branch has public access computers and free Wi-Fi connectivity. A variety of materials, from hardcover books, audiobooks and paperbacks are available on site. New programming is being developed, but cardholders (free, bring in a photo ID and some proof of an item mailed to your residence address with the same name on it) can access a variety of resources from the webpage, http://co.imperial.ca.us/library. That includes e-books, magazines and other resources.
The Branch will be hosting an open house, Monday April 13, to allow folks to see the new location and learn about the resources available. An introduction to computers class will be offered at 3:00 p.m. and refreshments will be served. The open house is from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Van Buren address.
