CBP Catches Fugitive Wanted For Child Pornography


CALEXICO, Calif. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Calexico West port of entry Wednesday apprehended a fugitive wanted for charges related to child pornography.

At about 4:30 a.m., September 17, Alfonso Hernandez-Gonzalez, a 56-year-old male Mexican citizen entered the port as a passenger in a Toyota Corolla. The CBP officer inspecting the vehicle and occupants referred them for a more in-depth examination.

During the inspection process, CBP officers discovered Hernandez had an active federal warrant issued at the request of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Fresno. CBP officers escorted Hernandez to a secure location for processing where they confirmed his identity, and the active no-bail warrant.

HSI special agents took Hernandez, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., into custody and booked him into the Imperial County Jail.
