Border Patrol Arrests â€œSureÃ±oâ€ Gang Member
CALEXICO â€“ Wednesday, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico station apprehended a dangerous gang member attempting to make an illegal entry into the United States.
Border Patrol agents arrested a 27-year-old Mexican national as he entered the United States illegally from Mexico at around 6:30 p.m.Â Agents arrested the man approximately 3 miles west of the downtown Calexico Port of Entry.
The man, later identified as Cesar Ramos-Bracamontes, was transported to the Calexico Border Patrol station where it was revealed he was an active member of the â€œSureÃ±os Treceâ€ criminal street gang.
The gang member is an aggravated felon who has convictions for Theft, Participation: Criminal Street Gang and Force/Assault with Deadly Weapon.
The man is in Border Patrol custody and will be criminally prosecuted for re-entry into the United States after being ordered removed.Â This is the 23rd gang member arrest in the El Centro Sector area this year.
El Centro Sector Border Patrol Rescues Woman in Desert
EL CENTRO â€“ Thursday, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents rescued a distressed woman in the desert while attempting to illegally enter the United States.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m., when a Border Patrol agent discovered foot sign while on patrol.Â The agent proceeded to following the foot sign north where he encountered a group of five individuals hiding inside a large hollowed out tree near mile marker 15 on Highway 98.Â One of the individuals, a female, appeared to be suffering from heat related injuries.
The agent immediately notified a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Border Patrol agent and via radio dispatch summoned an ambulance to the scene.Â Within minutes the EMT agent was on scene and provided first aid until the ambulance arrived to provide further care.
The ambulance transported the nearly unconscious woman to the El Centro Regional Medical Center for further evaluation.Â Agents were able to ascertain that the woman is a 32-year-old Mexican citizen.
The other four individuals of the group, all males, were determined to be Mexican citizens illegally present in the United States and were transported to the El Centro Border Patrol Station for processing.
