Carmen E. Borunda

Carmen E. Borunda was born on April 24, 1914 in Tucson, Arizona. She resided in Calipatria when she passed away on November 1, 2014 at the age of 100.
Carmen lived life to its fullest sharing her unconditional love with family and friends.Â She was known for her delicious homemade pies and tortillas.Â She had many hobbies however, one of her favorite was sewing for family, especially patchwork pillows and clothing.
Carmen worked 30 years in housekeeping; she was a member of Saint Patrick Church Ladies Society, Guadalupanas, and choir.
The Mass Service for Carmen will be on Friday, November 11, 2014 at St. Patrickâ€™s Catholic Church in Calipatria at 10:00 a.m.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. Patrickâ€™s Catholic Church in Calipatria from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
The Burial will be on Friday, November 7, 2014 at Riverview Cemetery after the mass service.
The Rosary will be on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at St. Patrickâ€™s Catholic Church in Calipatria at 7:00 p.m.
The survivors of Carmen include her daughter, Alexandria Medina of Calipatria, her son, Thomas E. Phillips, and her sister, Mary E. Butler of Brawley.
Carmen is preceded in death by her parents, Bartolo Estrada and Rita E. Estrada, her sons, Harry Borunda and Joseph Borunda, her sisters, Adela, Virginia, Rita, Rafaela, and Connie. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Mike, Angel, Raul, Bart, Joe and Nick.
