BRAWLEY – The Pre-Trial date has been set for Carly Bogue on October 28, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in room 108 at the Brawley courthouse.
Bogue is charged with four felony counts of animal cruelty for the deaths of three horses and the near-death of one surviving horse. The horses were found on July 5 with no water, food, or shade in 100-plus temperatures.
Attorney for Bogue, Robert Espinosa, stated to Judge Diane Altamirano that they are still in the discovery phase of the case.
Prosecuting Attorney Marco Nunez said they are still looking over and exchanging paperwork in the case.
The surviving horse, Cash, is being cared for in an undisclosed location. The horse is recovering. It is gaining weight and beginning to look better, according to its caretaker.
