CALEXICO – This Thursday, September 25, 2014, Calexico Unified School District board will be voting on accepting a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Planned Parenthood and the board.
Planned Parenthood would provide reproductive health education to the students if the MOU is approved.
Planned Parenthood has been in the news of late for controversial issues such as not providing the law with information concerning female minors brought into their abortion clinics by older males, some were step-fathers, others were not related males. Any possibility of statutory rape must be reported.
According to CNSNews, members of Live Action ventured to Capitol Hill this week to personally deliver a “damning investigative report” of abuses they uncovered in Planned Parenthood (PP) clinics over the past six years to members of Congress.
The abuses ranged from alleged cover-ups of statutory rape and sex trafficking to blatant misrepresentation of PP’s services to the public, according to the report, entitled “Lies, Corruption, and Scandal.”
“Its been six years of investigating the abortion industry and there’s a body of evidence Congress can act upon,†Lila Rose, president of the pro-life group, told CNSNews.com.
“Its a key time to ensure that all members have this information.â€
After posing undercover in abortion clinics to expose the wrongs she believes are rampant throughout the industry, Rose says legislators should be made aware of the documented abuses her group uncovered at the country’s largest abortion provider.
Key issues agreed upon in the MOU with the school board are Planned Parenthood will provide a trained health educator to present one hour sessions on Reproductive Health Topics, health education materials for presentation, collect demo information on attendees, refer clients for PPPSW to CUSD program as appropriate, facilitate contacts with the PPPSW partners may benefit for CUSD programs and services.
CUSD will provide access to students who are interested in the reproductive health information education, a classroom for the presentation and feedback about the quality of presentations and health services when referrals are made.
Several Culture of Life organizations are planning to attend, letting their disapproval of the MOU be known.
The board will meet at the District Administrative Board Room, 5:00 p.m. at 901 Andrade Avenue in Calexico.
