CALEXICO- Kicking off their second market of the 2016-17 season, Calexico held their festive Farmers Market, December 17, for everyone to enjoy the fresh and organic produce vendors offered.
With the Christmas theme, families brought their children to Crummett Park to meet Santa Clause and have pictures taken with him, making memories to cherish.
Calexico’s library set up shop, where families stopped by to do interactive arts and crafts with their children, offering quality time and learning experiences for their little ones. Children also got to play in the bounce house, allowing the children to blow off steam while the parents had the chance to look around.
The main attraction, however, came from the big produce stands filled with celery, lettuces, broccoli and cauliflower, all at a reasonable price.
Other produce stands had pops of bright yellows, oranges, and greens as the smells of ripe lemons and other citrus products, perfumed the farmers’ market.
One booth displayed wood-burning art, better known as pyrography, with the artist showcasing his skill and talent at the table. This unique style of art drew crowds as the wooden canvas began to take on forms and shapes, to the delight of the onlookers.
The big Calexico crowds filled Crummett Park, creating a fun and successful farmers’ market, as people left with purchases brimming with quality produce and other knick-knacks they bought at the holiday market.
