BUHS board honors teens

BRAWLEY – The BUHSD board honored Marissa Zielinski and Tanner Rollins as their Elks Teens of the Month for January 2013.

Marissa is a member of H.O.S.A., and an honor roll student. She plans on attending college to study nursing or become a veterinarian technician.


Tanner played football and basketball all four years, winning the Bud Smith Award for Football, and for basketball, he won the Coach’s Award.

He works as a shop assistant at Rolling R Enterprises.

Tanner plans on attending a four year university, playing college football and majoring in Constructional Management. He hopes to return to Alaska where he would run his own company and start his family.

The theme this year was “The Importance on Making a Difference”. Dakota emphasized her family for the foundation of  her speech.  Dakota moves on to the regionals in her speech competition. Her sister, Sierra, who accompanied her to the meeting, was last year’s Rotary Speech winner.
