BUHS to retire Pace’s basketball jersey number

Scott Pace 1BRAWLEY – War hero, Captain Scott Pace, who was killed in action in Afghanistan will be honored at the BUHS gym during Tuesday night’s basketball game.

Scott played basketball throughout the Brawley recreation leagues, becoming the captain of the BUHS varsity squad and making all –league. Scott eventually went on to West Point Academy to play ball and study nuclear engineering.

After West Point, Scott Pace attended flight school, where he learned to fly the Kiowa Warrior OH-58 helicopter. He served two tours of duty in Iraq.

The school will retire his jersey number in memory of Scott’s dedication and love for his high school basketball years and for loving his country even more. His teammates plan to meet beforehand and have dinner before coming to the game to participate in the honor.
