BRAWLEY â€”Â Brawleyâ€™s 9 – 10 All Starâ€™s hosted Imperial for the championship, demonstrating their talents, winning with a final of 4-1.
Home team Brawley took the field to start the game. With Imperial at the plate, Andrew Ibaja (3) connected with the ball, hitting a single to leftfield, followed by C.J. Tiermam (2) who got on base, advancing Ibaja to third.
Brawleyâ€™s defense found their field groove, stopping Imperial from any rallying score at their first bat.
Brawley leadoff, Aiden Torres, (2) hit a swift single to center field setting the tone for the rest of the inning. Pitcher Eli Saleado (3) followed, scoring Torres for the first run, taking the lead in the bottom over Imperial.
With Brawley on the board, Imperial pitcher, Jadaan Rivera, (42) pitched around Brawleyâ€™s Angel Brodel (32) for the last out, ending the inning.
Imperial struggled to get on the board through the third inning, but Brawley comes back to the plate adding to their lead. Aiden Torres, still hot from the first inning, smashes the ball over the right field wall for a single run homerun, firing up his team. Reyraldo Morebell (5) got on base through a walk. Eli Saleado, next up, connected with the ball, sending it to center field for a double, scoring Morebell for Brawleyâ€™s second run of the inning.
Trying to get back in the game, Imperial retired Brawley, after allowing two scoring runs. With a scoreless fourth and fifth inning by Imperial, Brawley stepped up to the plate in the fifth inning adding to their lead. Brawleyâ€™s first baseman Angel Brodel smashed a towering homerun over left field for the Brawleyâ€™s last run of the game.
With Imperial down four to zero at their last at bats, the young ball players battled for their final chance to get on the board. Matt Wiewel (22) scored Imperialâ€™s only run making the final score 4-1, Brawley.
With this win Brawley is named the champions of the Imperial Valley section and will move on to San Diego for their next All Star Tournament.[envira-gallery id=”80817″]
