EL CENTRO – On September 4, 2014, around 4:30 p.m., CHP dispatch was advised of a traffic collision with an ambulance responding on Highway 111 south of Aten Road.
Upon arriving, the officers found a silver Ford Explorer was on the right shoulder of the southbound 111, on its wheels with visible signs of collision damage.
The driver was traveling north on 111 and for unknown reasons, the driver traveled into the center median.
As she traveled on to the dirt, the Ford Explorer rolled over several times when it finally came to rest on the right dirt shoulder of southbound 111.
The 20-year old female from Brawley was trapped inside the vehicle and sustained fatal injuries from blunt force trauma. Juliana Zambrano, 20, was identified by the Imperial County Coroner’s Office, as the woman who died.
The cause of this collision is still under investigation.
