BRAWLEY – The Wildcat Varsity Volleyball team battled Holtville Vikings Thursday night at home, winning all three games, 25-5, 25-19, 25-11.

The conference game was also ‘Senior Night’ for the lady Wildcats with Coach Phil Finnell playing the seniors for all three games.

“It was a fun night for the seniors. They got to show case what they had learned in the Brawley program and celebrate their final year,” Coach Finnell said after the win.

The Wildcats had an easy game to start, but by the second round, the Holtville Vikings had rallied while the Brawley seniors seemed to be resting on their laurels. The Vikings never led, but kept hot on their heels, trailing the Wildcats by one point. The Vikings never fell further behind than 6, which was the final score of 25-19.

Over all, Gabby Mohammed led in aces with three, followed by Hannah Rodriguez nabbing two. Vanessa Marquez marked 15 kills, Mohamed had 12, and Rodriguez delivered 8.

The Wildcats have a series of tournaments in the San Diego area and then play another league game against Palo Verde Valley in Palo Verde on October 23.
