Brawley murder victim identified, police know person of interest

BRAWLEY – The Brawley Police are making headway into the investigation of the murder that occurred at the 600 block on D Street early Wednesday evening, according to Brawley Police Commander Brett Houser.

The shooting victim has been identified as 26 year old Matthew Bryan Tate of Brawley.

As a result of information obtained from the investigation a person of interest has been identified, police say. However, the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still being investigated. According to the Brawley Police, they are not releasing additional details in order to maintain the integrity of the ongoing criminal investigation.

The Brawley Police Department is asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the homicide.
