Police ask for help on murder of Brawley man early Wednesday evening


UPDATE: JULY 24, 8:39 a.m. - 

BRAWLEY – Imperial County Sheriff’s logs reported that on Wednesday, around 5:30 p.m., seven units were dispatched to 600 D Street when calls came in about a shooting in the alley.


Two suspects were described as Hispanic male adults, shaved heads, 5’5” to 5’6” on bikes riding toward Ciudad Plaza.


According to the logs, a shotgun was used in the shooting.



brawley police badgeBRAWLEY – Brawley Police Department responded to a call concerning a shooting in the 600 block of D Street just after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

On July 23, 2014, at around 5:30 pm, the Brawley Police Department Communications Center received several phone calls referencing gunshots heard in the area of 600 D Street. Brawley police officers responded to the area and located a gunshot victim, 26 year old white male adult from Brawley. The Brawley Fire Department medical personnel responded and Gold Cross Ambulance Service transported the victim to Pioneers Memorial Hospital. The victim later died as a result of his injuries.

The Brawley Police Department is asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the homicide. The shooter is still at large according to Brawley Police Commander Brett Houser.

The victim’s name is being withheld until next of kin is notified.
