Brawley man arrested after allegedly beating woman to death

BRAWLEY – The Brawley Police released a statement concerning the beating and subsequent death of a 51 year old woman in Brawley.

According to their report, on April 27, 2014, the Brawley Police Department Communications Center received a 911 emergency call from 649 Main Street, Ciudad Plaza Apartments.

The call requested medical aid in for someone in their apartments.

 

The City of Brawley Fire Department and Police Department personnel responded to the scene and located an unresponsive 51 year old female.
The female was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District for medical treatment.

Five days later, on May 2, 2014, the female patient passed away from her injuries.

Due to the nature of the incident, a police investigation was initiated regarding the suspicious circumstances of the beating.

Brawley Police Department’s investigative efforts resulted in the arrest today of 42 year old Brawley resident, Patrick Anthony Guillen, murder. Guillen is being held at the Imperial County Sheriff’s Jail.

The Medical Examiner’s autopsy is scheduled to take place on May 6, 2014.
