BRAWLEY – The Brawley Firefighters Association (BFFA) held a Boot Drive for the Imperial Valley Burn Institute Friday, March 20.
“All the money raised in Imperial Valley stays local to help burn survivors and to do fire prevention in the community,” said Christina Lesniak, with the Burn Institute.
The Boot Drive raised over $4,600.
“We help out every year with the Burn Institute,” said Mike York, Captain of the Brawley Fire Department and President of the BFFA. “They do a lot for burn survivors. They help us out with our open house and our fire prevention activities. They supply us with lots of materials. We’re happy to help.”
“This money was given by the community for the community,” said Brawley Fire Fighter and Vice President of BFFA Justin Riley. “We are thankful for every cent.”
The Boot Drive raised over $4,600. This amount was the largest collected by the BFFA.
“This is by far the most money that we have raised in our boot drives here in the City of Brawley,” said York. “We are completely blown away by the support of the community and how caring and generous they are.”
