Brawley, California – On February 27, 2013 at around 12:10 am, the Brawley Police Department Communication Center received the report of a possible explosion in the area of 1st Street and K Street in the City of Brawley.
Brawley Police Department officers responded to the area and discovered a 2005 Acura 4 door sedan had traveled northbound on HWY 86 crossed the intersection with K Street, lost control and smashed into two brick walls located in the north alleyway of the 100 block of K Street.
The Brawley Fire Department rendered emergency medical attention to the 22 year old male driver. He was transported by Gold Cross to PMH. He was later transported to San Diego Regional Medical Center.
He was listed in stable condition.
The 23 year old male front seat passenger was located standing outside the vehicle on scene. He was transported to PMH for medical attention.
The 26 year old rear seat passenger walked away from the scene prior to the arrival of emergency responders.
Investigators made contact with him after he later sought medical treatment at PMH. Based on information collected during the course of the investigation, the driver was believed to allegedly be under the influence of alcohol.
All three occupants of the vehicle are believed to be Brawley residents.
