BRAWLEY – The Brawley Chamber of Commerce named Katie B. Luna its permanent executive director following a recruiting and hiring process.
“Katie was selected because her professional experience and values align with the Chamber’s goals to promote and champion business growth and vitality,” said Kay Day Pricola, president of the Brawley Chamber Board of Directors. ” We could not be more pleased with our choice.”
Pricola encouraged Chamber members and the Brawley community to attend the Chamber mixer from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at Motel 6 to meet Luna and experience the benefits the Chamber offers.
“This appointment is quite an honor,” Luna said. “With my experience and passion for helping business owners succeed, this position is a natural fit for me. I look forward to working closely with the local business community, city staff, our Chamber board and all the committees for ongoing events and business development in the City of Brawley. ”
In January, Luna was appointed interim director of the Brawley Chamber following the termination of Jason Zara. Even prior to the appointment, Luna was no stranger to the Brawley Chamber or to supporting business. The daughter of a small businessman, Luna holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, from California State University, Fullerton. “Katie is extremely knowledgeable, articulate and energetic. I am confident that she will do a great job for the Chamber and our businesses,” said Liz Gonzales, who chaired the Chamber’s search and hiring committee.
