BRAWLEY – Brawley Chamber of Commerce Board President Ryan Johansen today announced the Chamber has regretfully accepted the resignation of Chamber Executive Director Katie Figari for personal reasons effective on Friday, June 14, 2013.
“Katie has done a great job of working with the Chamber Board to make changes that have made the organization more responsive to the needs of local business and more user- friendly,” Johansen said. “We hate to see her go, but look forward to her continuing support as the Chamber continues to work to strengthen its ties to its members and add value to Chamber membership.”
Figari said she is leaving the Chamber to run a virtual office for her daughter’s legal practice that is based in Pasadena.
Figari, who became the Chamber executive director in March 2012, said, “I have worked with a fantastic Board at the Chamber and am proud of all that we have accomplished. I have no doubt that all that we started will continue to grow.”
She said she is particularly proud of the new software and website the Chamber has added to interface better with members and several new events and services now offered including free websites for members and new Chamber breakfasts and seminars.
“I feel sad to leave the position, but this is such a chance to work with family and to learn new software,” she said.
However, she said she will continue to support the Chamber and support its programs and activities.
Johansen said the Chamber will recruit a new executive director and will post the position on its website, www.brawleychamber.com
“We have come a long way in the past year,” Johansen said. “And, our Chamber remains dedicated to helping the Brawley business community to continue to thrive.”
