BRAWLEY – Oreda Chin has been hired as the new Executive Director of Between Women, Inc., a non-profit organization that educates women and their families about breast cancer and provides access to mammograms and mastectomy products for the uninsured and under insured. Between Women empowers women with effective tools for long term survival of breast cancer.
Ms. Chin possesses over 30 years’ experience in customer service training, human resource assistance, small business procurement assistance, training and development. She has worked for Michigan Bell Telephone, San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, Newbreak Church, American Red Cross and her own business, Chinupbiz, a small business development company. She’s become a familiar fixture in the Valley, working as a volunteer at the Brawley Chamber of Commerce and becoming a member of the Brawley Kiwanis Club.
“The common theme of any position I have held in the past is bringing people together,” states Ms. Chin. “I have big shoes to fill since the retirement of the founder but I’m ready to use my energy and talents to continue her legacy and expand our program to include women’s wellness workshops and seminars.”
Founded in 1997 by Linda Cady, Between Women Inc. has not wavered in its mission to help women in the Imperial County to live longer through advocacy, education and early detection of breast cancer until there is a cure.
