Between Women cancer resource has new name

BRAWLEY — Between Women Inc. has announced an expansion of services and a new name, according to a press release. The organization is now doing business as the Imperial Valley Cancer Support Center. The expanded services include cancer-related products and services, patient advocacy support and education for women and men with any type of cancer. The services are free of charge for underinsured, uninsured, or financially challenged residents of Imperial Valley.

Group representatives acknowledged that transitions and name changes take time, but wanted to assure Valley residents that the mission of the organization remains the same: to help the residents of Imperial Valley live longer through education, patient advocacy and the early detection of cancer.

“Though most of our clients are breast cancer survivors, our new name reflects our compassion, support and resources to anyone suffering the hardships of a cancer diagnosis in Imperial Valley,” stated Oreda Chin, executive director.

The group’s website and email continues to be listed as Between Women, Inc. until updates are completed.
