SACRAMENTO — Assembly member Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) seeks to honor Holocaust survivors and commemorate their personal stories of perseverance in observance of California Holocaust Memorial Week.
The assembly member’s office will be accepting recommendations of Holocaust survivors, children of survivors, World War II liberators, or Holocaust remembrance organizations. Once selected, these individuals will have opportunity to join other statewide honorees for a Holocaust Remembrance Ceremony at the State Capitol.
“It is important that we preserve and share the life stories of our valiant survivors and courageous World War II liberators for generations to come. I look forward to recognizing an individual or organization from our own community,” said Assembly member Garcia.
Garcia’s office has asked for submission of nominations by Monday, March 20, 2017. For more information or to submit a nomination, please contact Garcia’s district offices.
