Brawley to Hang Banners Honoring Those Who Serve


bannerBRAWLEY – Banners will soon grace the Brawley downtown shopping area displaying the men and women of the town that volunteered to stand in harm’s way to defend the American Way.

The City of Brawley and the Brawley Veterans Memorial Committee aim to honor and recognize the contributions of current and former military personnel that either resides in Brawley or whose family members reside in Brawley.

For those desiring to include their service person, either one who once served or a present day soldier, download this form with the serviceperson’s first and last name, military branch and DD-214 or military documentation indicating full time duty status.

They also ask for a photocopy of a photo ID, verifying the Brawley address of the service person or his/her family member.

A color photo, 5×7 or larger, with the person in uniform will be needed. According to the form, digital photos with resolution of 600pi or higher will be accepted at

A check for $50 must accompany the paperwork made payable to Brawley Veterans Memorial Committee.
