Calexico, Calif. – Last week, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico station apprehended a dangerous fugitive on the run attempting to make an illegal entry into the United States.

At approximately 5 a.m. on August15, Border Patrol agents observed an individual make an illegal entry into the United States by climbing over the international boundary fence. The individual ran into an apartment complex located in the downtown area of Calexico. Agents from the bike patrol unit responded to the area and conducted a search. Border Patrol agents encountered the man and arrested him before he was able to blend into the populated streets.

Agents discovered the man, a 44-year-old United States Citizen, possessed a fully loaded hand gun that was tucked into his waistband, and four loaded magazines inside his rear pockets.

The man was transported to the Calexico Border Patrol station where it was revealed he has an extensive criminal history and an active warrant with the United States Marshalls. The man is also wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigations for three armed bank robberies.

The man, weapon, and ammunition were turned over to the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
