BRAWLEY-With lipstick, blush and tears of joy, Imperial Valley women glowedÂ in celebrating their beauty at a Tea Party/Make-up Party at the Pioneers Hospital Cancer Institute.
As Mary Kay consultant, Aurora Gutierrez, set out different products forÂ Virginia Montes, a patient at the cancer institute, Montes cleared her throat to tell her story, â€œI was diagnosed this last April with breast cancer, today I came because it makes me feel alive, I am alive! I have to stay strong, strong for my kids, for my husband, I am a fighter and I will fight! I will get through this.â€
Beautiful women from all over Imperial Valley whomÂ are going through the tribulations of Cancer celebrated their beauty by having a free makeover presented by Mary Kay.
Stephanie Gutierrez, spokesperson for the Mary Kay Consultant attendees, explainedÂ why she was happy to help out,â€ My mom went through breast cancer , so I know how it feels, and it is great to help out and make these women beautiful, like they already are.â€
The Cancer Institute, along with Between Women Inc. and Cancer Resource Center of the Desert, set up a stunning display of decorations and free gifts for guests.
The Cancer Instituteâ€™s Clinical Coordinator, Alicia Ortega, stood in front of the room and spoke to invitees about the purposeÂ for the Tea Party. She explained this event is for them to forget, for at least for one day, and forget about the word cancer and to remember itâ€™s all about them today, and for them to feel happy.[envira-gallery id=”44553″]
