Even though the individuals on “The Miracle Ticket” may need a miracle to win the governor’s race in Massachusetts, the two believers think it’s important to try.
Dr. Scott Lively, a Springfield pastor, is running for governor as an Independent candidate.
“My purpose in running for the governor of Massachusetts is to advance a biblical worldview here in this political arena, where that perspective hasn’t been heard for a very long time,” he tells OneNewsNow.
In fact, he says, it has been that way for decades.
“My purpose in running for the governor of Massachusetts is to advance a biblical worldview here in this political arena, where that perspective hasn’t been heard for a very long time,”
“I think Massachusetts was one of the first states to steer away from biblical values and into secularism,” the pastor submits. “It’s the original nanny state, welfare state, the home of gay marriage, the home of the Kennedys, and we’ve really gone downhill here in this state.”
His running mate for lieutenant governor is Shelly Saunders, a strong Christian and African-American.
“Shelly and I are working to restore a biblical worldview among conservatives here in this state and other values voters, [including] Catholics,” Lively adds. “I think we’re going to do pretty well.”
But as far as calling the governor’s mansion home, Lively openly invites people to pray, as he believes only intervention from heaven will put him in the state’s top job. But the pastor feels that at least his run for office will reintroduce the public to solid Christian values.
