Rufina T. Lira was born in Brawley on January 24, 1928. Rufina passed away peacefully at her Brawley home surrounded by her family on November 7, 2016.

Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, November 15, at Frye Chapel and Mortuary in Brawley from 6–9:00 p.m.

Church services will be held on Wednesday, November 16, at the El Redentor Church at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Neciuk followed by burial services at the Riverview Cemetery.

At the tender age of 17, she married Robert T. Lira on November 18, 1945. They would later marry by church and made their home in Brawley where they raised three children.

Rufina was a member for 40 years at The Redeemer Church and lover her Pastors very much. Many people came to her for prayer when in need and will be lovingly known as a Prayer Warrior.

She was preceded in death by husband Robert T. Lira on June 5, 1982 who she loved and missed until her last breath. She was also preceded in death by daughter Josephine L. Felix, 3 grandchildren Priscilla, Angel and Henry Jr., parents Jose and Concepcion Trejo, brother Jose and sisters Victoria, Carmen and Catalina.

Rufina is survived by her son, Joe Lira of Indio, daughter Ernestine Galvan of Brawley, and 11 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 33 great-great grandchildren.
