Stolen car
CALEXICO — Oct. 30, the Calexico Police reported a “Be on the lookout” for a 4-wheel drive, white, 1994 Honda Accord, stolen at 1120 5th Street between midnight and 2:00 a.m.

Brandishing a weapon
HEBER – IC Sheriff’s received a call Oct. 30, on a person brandishing a weapon at 10:00 a.m. Two unites were dispatched to the Heber Village Apartments. According to the person reporting, an advanced elderly male come outside with a BB gun and ordered all the kids to run away. According to the sheriff’s logs, the person was detained, put into custody to investigate the charge of brandishing a weapon.

Vehicle in canal
BRAWLEY — Sheriffs responded to a vehicle in a canal October 30 at 9:35 p.m. The reporting officer said a white 4-door sedan was in the canal at Highway 78 and Casey. No injuries were reported.

Attempted kidnapping
OCOTILLO — At painted Gorge Rd near Ocotillo, four units were dispatched to investigate a report of a black male adult in a black and yellow van trying to pull a young lady off of her quad. According to the girl’s grandmother, the male was last seen heading towards El Centro on Painted Gorge Road. Checkpoints were located and the BLM and the Border Patrol.

Dangerous big rig
SALTON CITY – The CHP called for assistance of a Wal-Mart big rig traveling at a high rate of speed, running vehicles off the road. CHP alerted it may be a possible DUI. Other CHP units were out of the area.

Dune accident
GLAMIS — A head trauma was reported at the west end of the Sand Drags by Glamis. Three units responded to the accident. Two off duty medical person assisted saying the subjects were experiencing neck pain, but they were coherent and conscious. BLM arrived on the scene and advised need of air transport for the 29-year-old male with a head injury, but the second patient could be transported by ground. 

Fight at border
CALEXICO — At the East Port of Entry, a disturbing the peace call went out concerning subjects in a car at the crossing. The person calling was in a silver Cadillac SUV and said they were pepper sprayed by the other subjects. The person calling said she got into a physical disturbance with three other females on the Mexican side over their vehicles cutting in front of theirs. Later on, according to the logs, five other males, including the three females, got out of their vehicle and began to punch the reporting person’s vehicle. She said her husband lowered the window and got pepper sprayed by one of the females. She did not want to press charges, but asked for an escort to their residence in Heber since the male subjects said they would be waiting for them on the other side.
