Lela Kissee was born January 26, 1914 in La Follette, Tennessee.
She passed away August 31, 2014 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley. Rev. Michael Lasky will officiate.
Lela Kissee married Leo Kissee on January 1, 1933 in Oklahoma. They moved to Westmorland in 1936, where they resided until her husband Leo Kissee passed away on September 24, 1989.
Lela Kissee remained in Westmorland until she moved to Phoenix in 2013. She lived in Westmorland for 77 years.
Lela Kissee retired from Westmorland School Cafeteria in 1978.
Lela was a loving wife and mother. Her family always came before her own needs. She loved to go to church and to read the Bible.
Lela is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Kissee, her son, Edward Kissee, son-in-law, Alfred Woodring, her granddaughter, Debra Maniaci, her father, mother and all of her siblings.
Lela is survived by her son, Eldon (Carol) Kissee, daughters, Edith Woodring, Carolyn (Larry) Belew, Patsy (Jim) Maniaci, her daughter-in-law, Roberta Kissee, 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and by 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Brawley Assembly of God Church.
