IMPERIAL COUNTY – Have you spent years playing along with Alex and Jeopardy? Is your brain filled with clusters of trivial information? If you answered yes to these questions, then the Libraries of the Imperial Valley have an evening of fun planned just for you.
A Trivia Bee is being held, Thursday, October 2nd at the Casa de Cultura building at the IV Fairgrounds. 3 person teams are being formed and any group may participate.
The entry fee is $300.00 a team and the funds raised go to support LEARN (Libraries Enable All to Read Now)
The IV Libraries participate in the LEARN program by providing literacy tutors for those people who wish to improve their reading skills, study for a GED or similar test, pick up some computer skills, or improve their English speaking skills.
This is a marvelous program and many people in the Valley take part in it.
It is funded from the state and grants.
The money raised with this Trivia Bee will be used to purchase computers for the new and updated Literacy program from the state.
If you are interested in putting together a team and coming to the Bee, please contact Marjo Mello at the Brawley Library or Connie Barrington at the Country Library.
There will be prizes and light refreshments provided. This promises to be a fun evening for our community.
