IMPERIAL – Once again, FM 107.5 will be  presenting Freedom Fest 2013 on behalf of the Imperial Chamber of Commerce.

“It takes approximately 330 volunteers each year to put this event on, stated Alexis Brown, Imperial Chamber Director of Marketing & Events and committee member of Freedom Fest 2013. The business community also provides tremendous financial support with major sponsorships from Sun Community Federal Credit Union, Imperial Printers/Rocket Copy, Spreckles Sugar, Viejas Casino, Valley Plaza Center, and FM 107.5.”

 

The winner of the recent Battle of the Bar Bands 2013 competition at Hot Rods & Beer will perform on the Freedom Fest stage this year beginning at approximately 8:00 PM.

“This year young and old alike will be impressed by the Sloppy Joe’s Custom Bicycle Club static display”, stated Freedom Fest Committee member Rick Webster. “Over 35 custom painted and hand fabricated bicycles will be displayed for the public to marvel over. You won’t believe what these guys can do to a bicycle.”

Fireworks America of San Diego will once again light up the largest fireworks show in southeastern California and it will be synchronized to music on FM 107.5. The fireworks show design and music track, produced by Matt Biolchino of Orange County, will feature a contemporary and traditional patriotic music theme.

2013 marks the twenty-third year Freedom Fest has been held on the campus of Imperial Valley College on July 4th. Concessions and static displays will open at 6 p.m. and the free fireworks show starts at 9:30 p.m.

As always, the public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets to sit on, and radios to tune to FM 107.5 for the fireworks music.

Alcoholic beverages, personal fireworks of any kind including sparklers, personal BBQ’s, and dogs, except working dogs, are not allowed on the Imperial Valley College campus grounds.
