Brawley, CA, – The 2012 Brawley Chamber Of Commerce Cattle Call Events, “Cattle Call…Where Legends Begin” are set to begin with this week’s Cattle Call Queen Coronation and Dance.
Cattle Call Queen, Teen Queen, and Little Misses will be crowned on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at a Gala Dinner/Dance to be held at the Barbara Worth Resort and Country Club.
Cattle Call rodeo week events begin on November 3rd with the popular Chili Cook Off to be held at Ed Weist field between Magnolia and Third beginning at 10:00am.
Teams will be competing for a $1,000 prize and bragging rights for the best chili in town!
Dia De La Familia will be held on Sunday, November 4th, also at Ed Weist Field. Events will include a Jalapeno eating contest, horseshoes, music , and more family fun.
The week continues with Cowboy Poetry night on Tuesday, November 6th at the Stockmens Club.
Wednesday Night, November 7th is Mariachi Night at Ed Weist Field beginning at 6PM. Come and listen to your favorite group perform or enter your group in this music fest.
The Cattle Call Parade will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, after a pancake breakfast hosted by the Lions Club on the South Plaza.
This year’s Grand Marshall is Karin Morgan who will lead the bands, floats, equestrian units and other parade favorites down Main Street. Karin recently retired after 34 years of service as the Brawley Parks and Recreation Director.
